Personal Writing Intensive
Betsy offers one-on-one writing guidance for anyone ready to commit to writing a book. Betsy’s focus is personal history (memoir). You may be writing your first book and don’t know where to start or you have written a collection of short stories that are ready to live beyond your journal. You’ll spend one or two weekends with Betsy where you’ll tune into your writer’s voice and why your story matters. You’ll create an outline of your book and then begin to write it. You’ll find a title and receive a mock-up of a potential book cover as a way to begin to bring your book to life even as it’s being written.
Weekend Intensive Schedule:
Friday
5pm | Sunset Chat and Dinner
Saturday & Sunday
10am to 1pm | Workshopping your Story
1 -3 pm | Lunch Break
3-6pm | Writing and Workshopping your Story
6pm | Dinner
Option 1: Includes one in-person writing weekend with Betsy in NYC, Miami, LA, London, or any agreed place (Housing, Food & Travel not included)
+ Weekly check-ins for 4 weeks
Cost: $11,000 – The investment in the writing intensive is payable-in-full one month before your weekend intensive.
Option 2: Includes two in-person writing weekends with Betsy in NYC, Miami, LA, London, or any agreed place (Housing, Food & Travel not included)
+ Weekly check-ins for 12 weeks

+ Up to 10,000 words of editing from the manuscript written during your 3 month writing intensive

*Please note: Betsy’s book Write On: A Daily Writing Practice for Anyone with a Story to Tell has a section with writing and publishing resources. The book is $22 so if you are looking for answers, you might start there and save yourself some money.
Story Development and Manuscript Evaluation
Betsy offers feedback on fiction and nonfiction in book length or short stories. You receive a written report on story structure, guidance on how to make it even better, and a follow-up 20-minute consultation to discuss what’s next for your manuscript. For larger manuscripts (and maybe a smaller budget), consider sending the first and last 15-30 pages for Betsy to review.
Cost: $8 per page, 30 page minimum

Book Blurbs and Reviews
Betsy is thrilled to offer reviews and blurbs for writers from her workshops and retreats who are ready to release a book. Depending on length of book, please request review three to four months before you need it.
